Why my coffee got cold this A.M.
What a morning today.....Like most people my morning ritual entails a cup of coffee, checking out the news in some form of media (print, tv, online), and a lil something for brekkie. As usual i check out numerous channels on the tv. Waiting for the stories like so and so got shot, this guy won the lotto, the bodega on 92nd st got robbed, yanks won , mets lose, and the weather.
Nope, not today. Today was just absurd. So flip on ABC nyc news, and the first thing I hear is a story about homeless people in nyc getting sent home via airline!
"Hey hobo bill, winters coming soon wanna fly south for the winter? Didn't you mention you were from SoCal in one of your drunken tirades? Well its you lucky day! Put down the 5th of hootch and go down to city hall and Uncle Mike is gonna send you there for free!!!!"
Thats right NYC's new main export is (drum roll please)......Bums. Apparently its just way to easy to buy a one way plane ticket for whatever the cost($100-$3000)in comparison of $30,000/yr. Hey anytown, USA they're your problem now.
Epic....that was just too much for me to handle I had to change the channel.
Next up...NBC, First story on this channel? White House Happy Hour. What the fuck? Did I really just hear that?!? How can I attend? Rich, I might have to come back to DC... So some guy locked himself outside of his house. He tries to break into his house and someone see him and thinks he is robbing a house. She calls the cops. OK, nothing wrong yet. The cops show up and do their job. The Cambridge Police Department reports, authored by Sergeant James Crowley and Officer James Figueroa, quote an incensed Gates yelling, "This is what happens to black men in America!," and, when asked by Crowley to speak with him outside the residence, Gates replied, "ya, I'll speak with your mama outside." the guy Gates (a Harvard Prof. no less) ends up getting arrested for disorderly conduct. WOW... How about a "No problem sir this is a big misunderstanding....." All of a sudden the woman who call in the report is racist (quick somebody call Reverend. AL!)and the police department acted "stupidly" (Quoted from our President) and Gates is a victim? How does this work??? Ok Obama goofed and wants to apologize. Cool, he saw he made a mistake and wants to say sorry. Usually apologies come in the form of a letter, a phone call, or over a meal/drink. He chose the latter. Ok, no big deal if they all lived in the same neighbor hood, or kind of knew each other. Whatever though, the two Bostonians met up with el presidente and vice pres on the lawn of the White House to swill some frosty ones. End coverage there... Nah, lets see what their drinking. The media who I guess has nothing better to do neeeeeeds to know what they are drinking, bringing, and what not...Isn't the a war going on?, a new justice coming into play?, Giant cluster fuck in the economy? Nahh, we don't need to know about anything that really matters to the nation. Lets take a topic that is somewhat minor (men solving problems like men) in comparison to other current events and just stir up the shit some more. All you need to do is mention the word racisit and all shit hits the fan... Screw this channel, next.
Now keep in mind I have only had about a third of my cup of coffee so far. If i want to hear bullshit news I'll put on News 12. I figured hey maybe its opposite day and I didn't get the memo. We'll i was wrong, the top story...Michael Jackson and did the doc kill him. Who cares king of pop (and kid touching)is dead. No one should care he is not a hero, nor should he be a role model.
Next and last stop...Good ol' FOX news. My timing is impeccable today. What? Did I hear that right? Its OK TO INTIMMIDATE PEOPLE OUTSIDE A POLLING PLACE?????? WTF Mate?
So the rocket scientist New Black Panther Party members decided to set up shop in front of the polls on election day with night sticks and of course in gracious New Black Party style hurled racial threats and insults at voters who tried to enter.

Now, you really can't do that. The Voting Rights Act is very clear. It prohibits any "attempt to intimidate, threaten or coerce" any voter or those aiding voters.
These guys broke the rule, got cuffed and charged. Good job cops. However yesterday the cases got dropped! Really??
What if these guys (see below) set up shop in the same manner like our friends over at the New Black Panther Party?

I bet you that they would get charged for some sort of federal crime of violating the Voting Rights act. The folks at Fox News had their jaws on the ground and all they could say was that "this has to be real good for the racial divide." I just laughed dumped out the coffee because it was cold, made a new cup and decided the iPod was a better choice for the day.
I did learn a few things out of all of this. If I'm ever homeless NYC is the place to be because they can send me to a nicer place litterally. If i want free beers just yell at a cop and call him racist because I'm a white male. And I know that theres bound to be a good show at the polls next Presidential Election.

Magical Powers
Have a sip of this and you'll taste the magic that is within... Southampton loc-dog LT. Rich McMahon III aka Mickey aka Co-Pres. of the Hit and Run club, introduced this me me years back and life has not been the same since (Thanks Dick). Had the chance to also check out the old distillery in Midleton, Co. Cork to see its inner workings. Epic. No sightings of John Powers or his sons but got to walk around his old hood and enjoy some of his offerings to us mere mortals. More to come later on this wonderful Irish creation. Some do the Dew, some hang with Jamo. I just want magical Powers.
